Seek Perfection.

Capture Excellence.

You are visiting the Frenship ISD Social Studies department website. Below, you will find the wonderful teachers of our department that work extremely hard at not only bringing their passion for Social Studies, but also actively seek the best possible way to embed their content into engaging lessons. We are blessed with the best teachers in Texas.

Overview

To ensure consistent vertical and horizontal alignment of educational standards, Frenship ISD Social Studies classes will...

  • implement a curriculum of common terminology, skills, and student expectations

  • foster development of personal accountability

  • construct understanding and awareness of broader social and cultural issues so that all CISD students will learn to conceptualize and connect ideas and apply thinking and reasoning skills as they become productive, active citizens in a global society.

Guiding Principles

  • Social studies instruction should be relevant and meaningful.

  • Social studies instruction should involve active participation, so students will acquire the ability and desire to become fully engaged in the activities of society.

  • Social studies instruction should allow the use of critical and creative thinking skills in relevant situations for use in student study, presentations, and classroom discussion.

  • Social studies should help students recognize each person as a valuable individual, encourage respect for the civil rights of all people, and emphasize students shared heritage.
